Burglary suspects arrested after cars stolen in Gravesend

A man and a teenage boy have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after cars were stolen from a driveway in Gravesend.

Two vehicles were reported stolen from Thomas Drive during the early hours of yesterday morning.

Patrol officers were dispatched at 2.54am and vehicles matching the description of the cars were seen being driven on the Wainscott Bypass.

They were later found abandoned in Cherry Tree Close, Rainham.

An area search was carried out by police dogs and officers, and at around 4am the suspected offenders were found nearby and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A 19-year-old man from London and a 16-year-old boy from Essex have been bailed until Tuesday, October 27 while officers carry out further inquiries.
