Mass brawl Dering Way, Gravesend results in two arrests

A brawl between a group of people in Gravesend has resulted in two people being arrested.

The incident happened in Dering Way shortly after 6pm and saw the police helicopter sent into the sky.

Officers were called to the road just at 6.10pm to break up the disturbance and found two cars on fire.

Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene to put the fires out and officers arrested two men.

It is understood several people were injured in the fracas, but did not need hospital treatment and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

James Walker, spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called at 6.10pm to a disturbance involving a group of people.

"Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

"The National Police Air Service also attended and officers are no longer at the scene."

The men, both 20 and from Gravesend, remain in custody.
