Woman in hospital after serious crash in London Road, Northfleet

A woman is in hospital in a serious condition following a crash on a busy road.

It happened at around midday yesterday near Rosherville Primary School in London Road, Northfleet.

A Mercedes A-Class was travelling along the road towards Gravesend when it was involved in a crash with a red Citroen C3.

The Citroen driver, a woman in her 70s, was treated for injuries at the scene and taken to a London hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The Mercedes driver, a man from Lewisham, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs.

The 25-year-old was later bailed to return to the police station pending further investigation.
