Ebbsfleet United sign FA Trophy star Chris Haigh from Concord Rangers

Ebbsfleet have beaten off competition to sign FA Trophy star Chris Haigh from Concord Rangers.

Goalkeeper Haigh impressed in the Beachboys’ run to the delayed 2019/20 Trophy final and was named man-of-the-match at Wembley for his efforts in their 1-0 defeat by big favourites Harrogate.

Fleet were in the market for a goalkeeper after releasing Tom Hadler - he joined Maidstone yesterday - and Haigh was keen to make the move.

“The club want to move up the division, that’s got to be our team goal,” the 24-year-old told Fleet’s website.

“I want to win games of football, that’s why I’m here.

“For me now it’s about playing for a big club, showing what I can do.

“The chats I’ve had with the gaffer have made me feel at home, the player welfare here is something you don’t get everywhere and now I’m just looking forward to kicking on.”

Haigh has also played for Watford under-21s, Heybridge Swifts and Maldon & Tiptree.
