Ebbsfleet sign Gozie Ugwu on loan from Chesterfield

Depleted Ebbsfleet have boosted their numbers by signing striker Gozie Ugwu on loan.

The 25-year-old forward moved to Stonebridge Road on loan for the rest of the season from fellow National League side Chesterfield.

Ugwu joined the Spireites on loan at the start of the season - playing against the Fleet in the first game of the season - but has most recently been on loan at Boreham Wood.

During his time at Wood, he scored four goals in 20 appearances.

Ugwu has worked with Fleet boss Garry Hill before, when the pair were together at Woking - scoring 17 goals in the 2016/17 season.

Fleet's much-publicised budget cuts plus recent suspensions and injuries have left Hill's squad down to the bare bones in recent weeks.

Cody McDonald has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.
