Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon not panicking in his search for a striker

Ebbsfleet's striker hunt looks set to continue into the final week of pre-season.

Having missed out on Junior Morias and Fejiri Okenabirhie, boss Daryl McMahon has moved on to other targets.

But while a new centre-forward remains their priority, Fleet are hardly short of attacking options.

Sean Shields and Ebou Adams scored from midfield in a 2-0 win over Gillingham on Saturday while Corey Whitely and Myles Weston both threatened from the wing.

Factor in Luke Coulson and Jack Powell, who scored 20 league goals between them last season, and there's plenty of support for strikers Danny Kedwell and Darren McQueen.

McMahon said: "Everyone knows we're trying to bring a striker in and the transfer window doesn't close for us.

"I'm looking forward to it closing for the Football League and then it might get easier for us.

"But I think we should create with the players we have - against most opposition up to League 1.

"Look at Whitely, Shields, Weston's had a great pre-season, Coulson, Powell, Drury, they've all got goals in them, and McQueen's back alongside Kedwell.

"We're comfortable and we just want to get the right one. We'll have to be patient with that.

"There's a lot of players being thrown about that aren't worth the money they're being put around for and when the window closes (on August 9) I think it'll all change.

"We've built a group and a way of playing over three years and I don't think we need to panic right now."

Transfer-listed Fleet striker Danny Mills has joined Welling United on a season-long loan.

Ebbsfleet host a Reading XI in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday (3pm).
