Ebbsfleet United won't sign any new players before the start of June

Ebbsfleet United will not be signing any new players until next month at the earliest.

Manager Garry Hill faces a big rebuilding job with most of this season’s squad expected to leave Fleet this summer.

But don’t expect to see any new faces at Stonebridge Road for another two weeks at least.

Hill said: “I certainly won’t be signing any players until the start of June. After the month of May I’d like to feel I’ll have a clearer picture.

“From my point of view, after May 30, when I’ve given that one-month period for those players and their agents to make their minds up, who are on contract for another season, then I’ll take a view of that.

“I have offered, through the month of May, making it quite clear, that everybody has been told who are on contract, there’s availability for a free transfer. After that, we look at the picture again.

“I’m doing my bit and I will not be signing any players until the start of June – at the earliest.

“There will be a lot of players out there so there’s no panic. You don’t get points in June, you don’t get points in July, you only start getting points from August 3.

“There’s a lot of things which I wait to hear about above me but I get on with my own job.

“In respect of signing players, no players will be signed – unless something really stands out and hits me – until after the end of May.

“If players’ declarations and statements are that they want to move on, that’s sorted and that does free me up with a certain amount going forward.”
