On December 23 this website published a photograph of Bethany Mackie holding a wine glass, with the headline Boozy Trip Just Days Before Teen Locked Up.

Ms Mackie had recently been sentenced for causing death by dangerous driving.

To clarify, Ms Mackie denies that she drank alcohol on her trip.

This statement has been published as a required remedy following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation which found, following a complaint from Ms Mackie’s mother Joanne Hogbin, the article had breached the Editors’ Code.
