Crash victim may have suffered heart attack

A 72-YEAR-OLD man who died following an accident involving two cars may have had a heart attack.

The crash happened just before 3pm on Wednesday Herne Drive, Greenhill, near Herne Bay.

The victim, from Herne Bay, was driving a Renault Clio which was in collision with a Ford Escort. He was taken to Kent and Canterbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fire crews from Whitstable and Herne Bay attended as a person had been reported trapped but the two drivers involved had both been released by the time they arrived.

They understood the dead man may have had a heart attack.

A police spokesman said later: "The cause is unknown and the accident is still being investigated."
