Fire crews called to Cornwall Road in Herne Bay after fire behind oven

Firefighters were called to a house after a fire started behind an oven.

Two crews were sent to Cornwall Road, Herne Bay, at about 4pm today.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews were faced with a fire at the rear of the oven, believed to have been started by an electrical fault.

"Crews used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire. They removed the oven to the garden to allow it to cool."
