A woman in her 30s has died after crashing into a field of sheep.

She was travelling in her VW Golf from home in Canterbury to work in Herne Bay before the accident.

Police were called to the scene in Bullockstone Road, Herne Bay, by ambulance crews at 6.45am.

A woman, who was on the scene before police arrived, said the victim crashed into the field of sheep, demolishing a wooden fence.

No animals were hurt and have now been moved into another field while repairs to the boundary fence are made.

The road has now reopened in both directions.
