A man has been arrested following the execution of a drugs warrant in Herne Bay yesterday (May 15).
Officers from the Kent Police Divisional Support Unit carried out a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in The Broadway just before 1pm.
A 28-year-old man from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis and abstracting electricity and 46 mature cannabis plants were seized.
He has now been released pending further investigation.
Investigating officer PC Constable Gareth Foreman said: "Whilst we investigate this incident we would like to take the opportunity to urge people with information about illegal drugs in the Herne Bay district to come forward.
"There are often tell-tale signs of drug use and supply, which can include an increase in comings and goings at the address, strong smells of cannabis people loitering in the vicinity or short exchanges between people on the street."
He continued: "Anyone with information that could help our ongoing fight to disrupt people who are involved in the use of illegal drugs should call 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
"Every bit of information can help build a picture of drug supply and this enables us to carry out search warrants like this one."
