Herne Bay moved into the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off places after a 2-0 win at South Park on Tuesday night.

Sam Hasler opened the scoring midway through the second half, with Danny Walder's penalty clinching the points as Bay went fifth.

Shaun Welford scored a hat-trick as in-form Hythe climbed to 11th with a 6-1 win at Corinthian-Casuals.

The hosts led through Jamie Byatt but Luke Harvey, Sam Conlon and Welford's first put Hythe in control.

Welford completed his treble after the break, then James Morrish added a last-minute sixth.

VCD missed the chance to climb out of the Ryman League Premier Division bottom four when they lost 1-0 at Met Police.

Jake Reid scored early in the second half before VCD, who remain 22nd, had Karl Dent sent off.

Chris Piper gave struggling Cray an early lead at Ryman League Division 1 North play-off contenders Wroxham.

But two goals in as many minutes from Remy Gordon and Nathan Stone gave the hosts a 2-1 victory that keeps Tommy Warrilow's side 12 points adrift of safety.
