More on KentOnline
We’ve stayed at quite a few holiday parks over the years, but we’ve never been so impressed with one as we were when we stayed at Vauxhall Holiday park near Great Yarmouth.
The park is in a prime location, about five minutes from the seafront and not far from Norwich and the Norfolk Broads and the journey from Kent didn’t actually take that long.
This holiday park has absolutely everything a family could ask for and is just packed with fun things to do, many of them at no extra cost.
After getting to our caravan, we stayed in a Kingfisher one, which was lush, spacious, modern and warm, we loved it as soon as we walked through the door.
We stayed at the park in October, and even though the weather wasn’t as sunny as we would have liked, there was still plenty to do there.
The teenager and her dad absolutely loved the on-site snooker and pool hall which had a great authentic atmosphere.
There is a huge choice of other activities too, we enjoyed our time in the Tropical Waterworld pool, and the youngest member of our party, a very active six-year-old, spent hours in the tree house adventure playgrounds and squealed with delight every time he travelled down the zip-wire.
There is also an outdoor pool for those really hot days in the sun.
The kids club was held near the Reedcutters restaurant, so was ideal to go and grab a nice drink while he had fun at the club.
Other activities we saw people enjoy were the mini-bowling, jungle adventure golf to name but a few and there is also an on site fitness centre and sauna for those who like to work out.
We spent quite a bit of time in the amusement arcade. It has great games, is modern, clean, well staffed and has a great feel about it.
We were able to win lots of prizes and collect out tickets to scoop a bigger prize at the end of our stay.
The arcade kept both the teenager and the six-year-old entertained and amused for hours.
The evening entertainment in the V arena was well worth a watch, we all enjoyed an all singing and dancing ensemble which was very well put together and had everyone singing along.
On the Saturday of our stay, we were lucky enough to be there for the WAW wrestling show, which if your are a wrestling fan, is not to be missed.
It was run by the family of WWE superstar Paige and the performers have apparently been doing the show at the park for a while, knew exactly how to keep the fans entertained.
And of course we were spoilt for choice with the eateries on site.
Me and the teenager had a delicious breakfast at the Reedcutters restaurant and when we fancied taking something back to our warm and welcoming caravan, we enjoyed, I think probably all of the take-away options and it meant I never had to cook at all.
Choices included, a fish and chip shop, a pizza and kebab, fried chicken place, a coffee shop, seafood stall, all served pipping hot and fresh.
There is a supermarket on site for the essentials, but we were only there for three days, so we dined out or had take-away until our bellies were full.
We arrived on a Friday and stayed until Monday and visited the nearby seafront, enjoyed rides at the Pleasure Beach and saw some wonderful river views a the Norfolk Broads National Park.
Even the teenager didn’t have a mood all weekend as she was kept entertained and happy and on the journey back she even asked when we can go back.
We all decided a longer stay would be arranged next time so we could do all the things we couldn’t fit during our weekend.
We all agreed, we loved the park and how it kept us entertained and we all said it has everything a family could ever wish for the perfect holiday.
We just can’t wait to visit again.
