Abdul Mosa, of Leeds, admits to causing death of son, Alin, 7, in crash on A20 near Saltwood, Hythe

A father has today admitted to causing the death of his seven-year-old son in a crash near Hythe last year.

Abdul Mosa, from Leeds, pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court to five counts of dangerous driving including causing the death of his son Alin.

The 43-year-old admitted seriously injuring his wife and other two children as well as causing the serious injury of the driver of a lorry that the Mosa family's Kia Soul drove into.

The crash happened on the A20 Ashford Road, near Hythe, at around 9.30am on August 29 last year after the family returned home from a holiday on the continent.

No evidence was heard during the short hearing as Mosa appeared via video link from Leeds Crown Court and the case was adjourned until July 3 when Mosa will be sentenced.

Mr Mosa was driving the car with his wife, two sons aged seven and six and his one-year-old daughter as passengers.

The lorry driver, and the other occupants of the Kia, including Mr Mosa, were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A post mortem carried out on September 2, at Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital, confirmed the boy had died of multiple injuries.

His six-year-old brother and 17-month-old sister were seriously injured in the crash.
