Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

An inquest opening into the death of the 29-year-old heard that he was found lying on a patio by the owner of the Hillside Street property.

Police, paramedics and forensics officers were called to the scene, with the road closed off for most of the day.

Investigators found that the gym instructor had sustained a fatal stab wound to his stomach and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assistant Coroner Joanne Andrews opened the inquest today and adjourned it until a date in May.

In their most recent statement, a police spokesman said: "We were called to a private address in Hillside Street, Hythe, at around 7.30am on Monday, February 14.

"On arrival, a man in his 20s was found with a serious injury to his stomach and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The circumstances surrounding his death are being treated as unexplained and detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are conducting ongoing enquiries."

Police have been contacted for an update on the investigation.
