Stunned police discovered this bald tyre on a speeding car.

At least one wheel on the large silver car, stopped in Hythe, looks smooth as a billiard ball at the centre.

Another tyre photographed is shown to be running low on tread.

Yet the car had been travelling at one and a half times times the speed limit.

Officers seized the vehicle and reported the driver.

Kent Police's Roads Policing Unit put out a tweet with the pictures just before 5pm today.
