Seven fire engines attend West Hythe bungalow blaze

Seven fire engines were called out after a blaze erupted at a bungalow – with crews at the scene for 10 hours.

The firefighters attended a home in West Hythe Road, West Hythe, just after 10pm on Wednesday.

The crews did not leave the scene until 8am this morning and a volunteer response team also attended to provide advice and support to affected residents.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Control operators sent seven fire engines, a height vehicle, and a bulk water carrier to the scene, where crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets and main jets.

“No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known but is believed to be accidental.”
