Kent League Premier Division leaders Hythe Town suffered their fifth league defeat of the season on Tuesday when they went down 3-2 at Sevenoaks Town.
Mo Takaloo gave Hythe a 13th-minute lead but Matt Foreman, making his debut for Sevenoaks after signing from Crowborough, equalised seven minutes later.
Errison Ahwan then put Sevenoaks 2-1 up on the stroke of half-time, and Marcus Elloitt stretched their lead to 3-1 just before the 80-minute mark.
Athough Michael Smissen pulled one back for Hythe, they couldn't close the gap and the last seven minutes slipped away, as did all three points.
Fortunately for Hythe, second-placed Holmesdale were unable to take full advantage, as they drew 3-3 at home to Tunbridge Wells after being 3-0 down at half-time.
