Courier business TNT is to build a hub for its road operations and a regional sorting office at a site in Kent, creating about 200 jobs.
The 600,000 sq ft site is expected to open in Dartford by the summer of next year.
Described as a “multi-million euro development” the centre will be built by commercial property company Exton Estates in partnership with CWC Group.
The site will improve efficiency for the firm, which made €6.9 billion (£5.4bn) in revenue last year, thanks to its links to the Channel Tunnel and Port of Dover.
TNT international network and operations director Steve Meadows said: “We’re delighted to announce this new phase of investment in our network.
“The Dartford area was chosen for its strong road links and proximity to the South East of England and Greater London, as well as both ferry and Eurotunnel services.”
James Mawson, director of Exton Estates, said: ‘’We are pleased to be working with TNT on this new distribution hub and will have the building ready for handover to them in September.
“We believe that the site’s premier location, just off Junction 1a of the M25, will ensure that TNT can operate successfully, drawing on good quality employment from the Dartford area.”
