It means the beer company will be the official provider of beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium from the start of the new season.

It comes hot on the heels of Shepherd Neame confirming it has secured a similar deal with League One east London side Leyton Orient.

The partnership will kick-off when the Gills take on Millwall this Saturday in a pre-season friendly.

Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “The Gills are a great Kent club with a rich heritage, and we look forward to working with them and celebrating their achievements during the coming years.”

Gillingham owner and chairman Brad Galinson added: “This is a special one for us. We are a match made for each other.”
