Travelodge jobs offer for 30 students across Kent

A budget hotel chain is offering 30 students in the county the chance for a full-time job to work around a university course.

The dual workplace recruitment programme through the Travelodge chain will fill 3,000 jobs nationwide.

Believed to be the first of its kind, it will offer flexible working hours designed around the student’s study programme in their university and home locations

Travelodge operates 14 hotels across the county, with plans to open more, and hopes its bespoke programme will help students make a career in the hospitality industry.

Students will get a permanent job with flexible working hours designed around their study programme in their university and home locations. It also offers a work buddy and access to the in-house management development programme called Aspire, so that students can expand their skill set whilst studying.

The chain says the average student is paying £20,000 annually for their university education - £9,500 for tuition fees and £10,860 for the cost of living.

It says if a student worked around 24 hours a week at Travelodge they could earn around £10,000 per annum, enough to meet average living expenses.

Students will also be able to transfer to a hotel close to home to work during the summer months.

Travelodge has 30 jobs that need to be filled in Kent this summer. Positions include roles in reception, restaurants and housekeeping.
