KEiBA 2018: Enter the most prestigious business awards in Kent

Great staff morale and a top notch profile are part of the prize package for companies which enter the most prestigious business awards in Kent.

That was the message from past winners to more than 150 people gathered at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge for the launch of KEiBA 2018.

The event kicked off the entry process for the county’s biggest celebration of business achievement – fully entitled the Kent Excellence in Business Awards.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of KEiBA, which culminates in a gala night at the Kent Event Centre in Detling, attended by more than 600 people.

Jointly hosted by Kent County Council and the KM Media Group, there will be 16 categories to enter for companies and organisations based and operating in the county.

“Winning a KEiBA is a really special achievement," said Luke Quilter, chief executive of Sleeping Giant Media in Folkestone, who won entrepreneur of the year in 2017.

"You’re up against tons of great companies, so receiving an award is something to be truly proud of.

“I would definitely recommend entering the KEiBAs to any business in Kent that’s looking to gain more exposure, and, for the fortunate few, to fill up the awards cabinet.”

New for 2018 will be a Family Business of the Year award, alongside the popular gongs for large, medium, small and start-up firms.

KM Media Group chairman Geraldine Allinson said: “There are a plethora of talented people who work for companies in Kent making a difference in this county with their innovations and service.

“Over the years it has been great to see the pure joy and happiness that entrepreneurs and staff have experienced when winning a KEiBA.

“Better still, it has been fantastic witnessing the doors which have been opened for companies that hold one of these coveted awards.”

“I would encourage any business to enter as even the process of doing so gives you the chance to take a moment to appreciate the great things you have achieved and critically evaluate your business...” - Cllr Mark Dance, Kent County Council

Kent County Council cabinet member for economic development Cllr Mark Dance said: “When you look at the business community in Kent, it is immediately clear that KEiBA is one of the most exciting things happening here.

“The awards really do show off the quality of Kent businesses and demonstrate the hard work and entrepreneurial flair in action right across the county.

“I would encourage any business to enter as even the process of doing so gives you the chance to take a moment to appreciate the great things you have achieved and critically evaluate your business.”

The deadline for entries is Friday, February 23.
