A leading law firm will be on the move this spring after announcing it is moving out of a high street office it has occupied for nearly 60 years.
Furley Page says it will leave its Whitstable High Street office later this spring once work is complete on outfitting a new, larger base at the town’s Estuary View Business Park.
The firm, which also has offices in Canterbury and Chatham, will relocate its existing 13 permanent staff to the site. They will be joined by several who are currently based in Canterbury.
It says it is the first phase of a “review” of all its Kent offices.
It says the relocation will allow it “opportunities to expand its staff and bring new teams and services to clients in the area”.
Alongside the private client and residential property teams already based in Whitstable, the law firm plans to add representation from the commercial property, dispute resolution and personal injury teams among others in due course.
Jeremy Licence, managing partner, said: “We have practised from Whitstable High Street since the 1960s but the office does not allow us to increase the staff and services we aim to offer in Whitstable.
“The planned move to Estuary View is an investment in the area and underscores our commitment to the town, our staff and our clients.
“This is the first stage of a wider plan to review all our offices and ensure that they meet our commitment to provide our staff with a modern and comfortable working environment.”
The firm says it is currently reviewing options for the sale of its High Street premises in Whitstable.
