Open to anyone living in Kent and Medway with the dream of starting their own venture, the free online programme will take place between 10am and 3pm over Zoom.

The Queen's Enterprise Award-winning initiative will provide practical skills on how to build a website from scratch, take payments online and use social media to find customers and build a brand.

KCC’s cabinet member for economic development, Derek Murphy, said: “The pandemic has turned a lot of people’s lives upside down. While some have lost jobs and are looking for a new direction, others have decided time’s too short to waste to be stuck in an unsatisfying role and want to run their own fulfilling venture.

“There’s also plenty of people with years of commercial experience seeking support to adapt to the ‘new normal’ ways of running a business because of coronavirus – including greater online presence, pre-booking and use of channels such as Instagram and Facebook for promotion.

“As the country continues its Covid recovery, we’re sponsoring this course to help people, whatever age, in work or out, gain the know-how needed to start, build up and run a business today and to make a positive move.”
