Canterbury Escape Room becomes setting for couple's engagement

Chloe Miles was prepared for some thrills and spills as she took on a heart-stopping escape challenge – but she didn’t expect to come out a bride-to-be.

Long-term boyfriend Paul Wright got down on one knee to pop the question as the couple tackled the terrors of Canterbury Escape Room in St Peter’s Street.

Paul, 29, had planned the surprise proposal with the new attraction’s boss, Jonathan Fitter-Harding, who planted the engagement ring in a locked chest.

Chloe, 31, had to follow a series of clues as part of the room's challenge before opening the chest and discovering the ring.

Paul then got down on knee and asked Chloe to be his wife.
