New Kent wedding venue: Oak Barn, Frame Farm in Benenden

A Grade II listed barn has opened as Kent’s newest wedding venue after a three-year project to convert it.

The Oak Barn at Frame Farm, Iden Green Road, Benenden has been lovingly restored by Deana and Tim Maw and has just hosted its first wedding.

The idyllic valley location offers bridal parties state of the art facilities in historic buildings grouped around a traditional farmyard, set in 25 acres with views across the Weald.

As well as two function barns with a terrace and courtyard, there's also accommodation in five cottages beside a wildlife pond.

"Our vision was to restore these redundant farm buildings, to give them a new purpose and one that would safeguard their future," said Tim.

"We wanted to preserve their history and character but hide new technology in the design, and all to be done in an environmentally positive way.".
