The High Weald Academy is aware that learning does not just take place in the classroom. They firmly believe that exciting opportunities not only bring learning to life but make life-long memories and help develop high levels of resilience, self-esteem and confidence. Alongside the formal curriculum, High Weald students learn new skills and develop their knowledge through involvement in a variety of clubs and team activities. During their time at the school, students have the chance to take part in a variety of trips and visits both at home and abroad, to learn about different cultures. An Ofsted report states “pupils have the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects” at The High Weald Academy.
The on-site farm includes sheep, pigs, cattle and smaller animals such as rabbits, chickens and ducks. From Year 7 onwards, all students have the opportunity to join the Young Farmers Club to experience the farm.
