Firefighters tackle barn blaze in Tilden Lane, Marden

Thirty-two firefighters spent some 15 hours tackling a huge blaze in a barn in Marden.

Crews rushed to Tilden Lane after receiving a 999 call just before 9.30pm.

KMTV report on the fire which has shocked residents

Around 350 bales of hay caught alight in the barn, which measures approximately 40 metres x 50 metres.

Six fire engines, a command support unit, a bulk water carrier were at the scene at its height, before this was reduced to three engines at around 1.30am and then two later in the morning.

By 12.45pm, firefighting operations were completed and the site was handed back to the land owner.

One fire engine remained at the scene this morning to carry out a watching brief.

The cause of fire has not yet been established.
