A fire that started in a garden shed quickly spread to the roof of a bungalow.

Firefighters were called to The Russets, off Oxford Street in Snodland, just before 8pm yesterday.

The blaze caused serious damage to the property. It took four hours - and four pumps and a water unit - to put it out.

The fire-fighters had to remove parts of the roof to tackle the flames. There were no reports of any injuries.

An investigation has been launched into how it started.
