Body found in River Medway in Maidstone

A body has been pulled from the River Medway in Maidstone.

Police confirmed they were called to the scene near St Peter’s Street at 3.50pm.

Officers are still at the scene along members of Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

A police spokesman said: "A body has since been removed from the water.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident."
