Bowden-Brown: Time for us to dig deep

Maidstone United chairman Paul Bowden-Brown says the club are working hard preparing their application for a £150,000 grant from the Stadia Improvement Trust next month.

It’s the next step in his long battle to bring the club back to the County Town, after the Football Foundation turned down the club’s £1.2 million bid last month.

Mr Bowden-Brown said: "We are making plenty of progress, producing new drawings to show details of the total build and also details on how we are going to fund it."

The club are employing a fund-raiser to help generate revenue and he added: "It’s time for the talking to stop and for people to put their hands in their pockets.

"Everyone, councils, the people of Maidstone and our supporters

have to work together on this

but it’s hard work out there at the moment."

A meeting expected to take place last Friday between all parties was cancelled for logistical reasons.
