Suspected car arson in Blackmanstone Way, Allington

Police are investigating a suspected arson after a car was set alight.

Officers were joined by fire crews at the blaze, which happened on a residential street, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A car was heavily damaged at around 3.30am in Blackmanstone Way in Allington, Maidstone. No injuries were reported.

A police spokesman said: “The incident is being treated as arson and an investigation is ongoing.”

One witness who saw the fire said they thought a “petrol bomb” had been put through the car which was now left burnt out on someone’s drive.
