Car crashes into a pedestrian crossing in Maidstone

Emergency services were called after a car crashed into a pedestrian crossing.

Police officers and paramedics descended following the crash on a junction in Maidstone last night.

An eyewitness reported seeing at least four ambulance vehicles at the scene at 8.55pm.

A car collided with railings at the crossing on Ashford Road, near the junction with Square Hill Road.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 8.55pm on Friday September 23, after a car collided with railings on Square Hill Road, Maidstone.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"No serious injuries were reported."
