A MAN was attacked in front of his wife and child when he confronted a group of youths who spat at them.

The family was in a car waiting at traffic lights in Loose Road, Maidstone, when two youths spat into the vehicle.

The man got out and asked them what they were doing, but two other youths appeared and the four began punching and kicking the man. Four more youths then became involved.

They left the victim, in his 40s and from the Medway area, with cuts and bruises.

The offenders are described as white, in their late teens. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01622 608189.
