Children witness car rampage

A driver smashed into several cars in a community hall car park while children stood nearby.

Police were called to East Malling community hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday after reports that a driver had collided with a number of parked cars.

Some of the cars were damaged in the incident, which happened in front of residents and children who were attending a function at the hall.

The car involved then headed towards Wateringbury. Police said they tracked it "at speed" before it was finally brought to a halt.

An 18-year-old man from East Malling has been arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent, drink driving, and possession of cannabis. He is being held in police custody while inquiries continue.
