Maidstone train passengers left confused after departure board fault at London Victoria

Passengers were left scratching their heads after a fault with the departure board at London Victoria.

Maidstone commuter Mark Hempleman shared this photo on a Facebook group after spotting the blunder on his journey home last night, alongside the message: "This might be fun..."

The error meant the stations were listed in the wrong order.

The 9.52pm London Victoria to Ashford International via Maidstone East normally calls at Bromley South, Swanley, Otford, Borough Green and Wrotham, West Malling, Maidstone East, Bearsted, Hollingbourne, Harrietsham, Lenham and Charing.

Southeastern said: "There is currently a fault with the departure boards at Victoria and they may show wrong information."

The rail firm advised any confused customers speak to a member of station staff, or listen for announcements.
