Man charged with death by careless driving after biker killed on M20 near Maidstone

A 31-year-old man has been charged with causing death by careless driving after a crash on the M20 near Maidstone.

Police were called to the London-bound carriageway of the motorway, close to junction 8, at around 1.20pm on Sunday after a white lorry and a black motorcycle collided.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s and from Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance crews.

Mateusz Pietrow, of no fixed address, was arrested the same day and charged yesterday ahead of an appearance at Medway Magistrates' Court today.

At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, October 22.
