Driver escapes injury after crash

A driver escaped injury after losing control on a steep and unlit hill road.

Police said the driver of a Peugeot 106 crashed on Birling Hill - a 1 in 7 gradient road - near Snodland, after racing at “very high speed” along Harvel Road, Meopham, just before half past midnight on Thursday July 29.

The silver Peugeot had earlier allegedly failed to stop for a police vehicle when requested to do so.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and given police bail in connection with the incident.

Police are also searching for the driver of a silver Vauxhall Corsa, which was overtaken by the Peugeot, who may be a witness.

Police can be contacted on 01732 379217 or via appeals.westkent@kent.pnn.police.uk
