Car driver treated for injuries after crash with coach on M20 near Maidstone

A driver had to be treated for injuries after the car they were driving was involved in a crash with a coach on the M20.

The carriageway was briefly closed between junction 8 for Leeds Castle and Maidstone Services and junction 7 for the A249 following the smash between the coach and two other cars.

One vehicle was left facing the wrong way as a result.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called at 10.47am on Wednesday, July 24 regarding a collision involving a coach and two cars on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 between junctions 8 and 7.

"Officers, Highways teams, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a car driver was treated for injuries.

"The carriageway was closed while emergency services were at the scene and was reopened at around 12.10pm."

The car driver's injuries are not believed to be serious.

A second crash then occurred moments later on the opposite carriageway.
