Two young women entrepreneurs are combining their talents to offer the public a unique opportunity for some glam make-up and shopping at the Royal Star Arcade in Maidstone.
Ella Holder had just turned 19 when she launched her business called Forward Fashion just a couple of week before the Covid lockdown in March 2020.
Marketing her products through Instagram and initially working from her bedroom in her parents' home, she has continued to expand offering "fast and easy fashion" to her target market of 18 to 26-year-olds, or as she put it "young girls like me. "
The former New Line Learning Academy student has a Diploma in Business from Mid Kent College.
She said: "I have kept on growing my brand and it is going really well. I now have over 10,500 Instagram followers which provides me with the best possible target audience for my items.
"I've also built an office which I now work from every day and use as a photography set for marketing all of my items."
Aimee Hobbs is a similarly determined young businesswoman. She opened the Aimee Hobbs Makeup Studios, now known as AHM, in Maidstone in December 2019 when she also was just 19.
As well as seeing clients at her premises at Unit 41 in the Royal Star Arcade, she sells make-up courses online.
Aimee, from Simpson Road, Snodland, had encouraging words for other young entrepreneurs thinking of setting out. She said: "As long as you have a dream, believe in yourself and work hard every day, there's no reason why you would fail."
The two women have become friends after linking up on Instagram and they are combining their skills to launch a pop-up shop in Aimee's studio on Friday, August 6.
Ella said: "It will be a glam evening of make-up and shopping, with Aimee offering discounts on make-up and lashes.
"Together our two businesses combine the importance of looking and feeling good."
