Parents are heading to the newsagent to pick up their copy of this year's First Class special, free inside your Kent Messenger newspaper.

In recent weeks, our photographers have been whizzing between primary schools across the county, including Maidstone and the Malling and Weald areas, taking pictures of this term's new starters.

All these pictures have been pulled together in First Class, a supplement of all paid-for KM Group newspapers out this week.

Hundreds of youngsters from across the county been making their tentative first steps into the world of learning.

It's a time that fills parents and children alike with great excitement, pride and anticipation, and pupils are now halfway through their first term.
