"In each case their colleagues have quickly and bravely been there to help and prevent serious injury."

West Division Commander Ch Supt Amanda Tillotson replied to say: "I hope all the officers are ok? It’s not acceptable to assault our officers and staff, hopefully a few arrests and charges to follow. We will not tolerate this."

A spokesman was unable to provide details for all the call-outs in which its officers were injured, but all suspects were arrested, it was confirmed.
