Flatbed truck stuck for two hours in Woodville Road, Maidstone

A flatbed truck was stuck for two hours in a turning circle at the end of Woodville Road in Maidstone.

The enormous vehicle crashed into a gate and became lodged across the road when the driver attempted to navigate the cul-de-sac's turning circle.

The truck, belonging to York-based A Rhodes Haulage Ltd, caused minor damage to a gate and fence panels and was eventually removed after two hours.

Director of the haulage firm, Paul Rhodes, declined to comment and it remains unclear how the driver ended up in the situation.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers were called to Woodville Road where a lorry had become trapped in a cul-de-sac, reportedly causing damage to property.

"Recovery of the vehicle was arranged and officers left the scene after an hour.”
