Flowers left in memory of Andre Bent who was killed in Maidstone town centre brawl

Flowers have been left in Maidstone town centre in memory of a student who police suspect was murdered after a town centre brawl.

Andre Bent was stabbed to death in the High Street in the early hours of Sunday morning, shortly after attending a performance by London rapper MoStack at the Gallery nightclub.

The 21-year-old had been in the County Town to celebrate a friend's birthday when he was attacked on an evening of shocking violence.

Floral tributes have now started to be laid in Jubilee Square in memory of Mr Bent, who was a student at London South Bank University.

One of the bouquets left was by staff at The Brenchley, with a message: "May you rest in peace. All our love."

His sister Michaela said on Twitter: "He did not deserve this in any way shape or form. He went out that night to enjoy himself and celebrate a friends birthday.

"I will not see my brother again and nothing can change that. What we can do is find the person who did this and let justice serve its course."

Cousin Louis Annan said: "I want everyone to know that my cousin had an amazing heart and was on his way to make a positive impact in this world.

He added: "Rest in peace Andre Bent. I love you forever."

Four men from London have since been charged with violent disorder and are due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
