Headcorn, Staplehurst, East Farleigh, Teston, Wateringbury and Marden now at risk of flooding following Environment Agency warnings

Five flood warnings remain in place for parts of west Kent today.

Headcorn and Staplehurst are now at serious risk of flooding

While warnings remain in place for East Farleigh, Teston, Wateringbury, Marden, Yalding, Collier Street, Maidstone, West Farleigh and Little Venice.

Warnings have been lifted in Paddock Wood, East Peckham and Goudhurst have been lifted.

Sections of the rivers Medway, Beult and Lesser Teise are dangerously high and threatening to spill over into surrounding areas.

The fresh warnings issued by the Environment Agency follow heavy rainfall on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon warnings and alerts were issued for most of rural Kent.
