HEALTH Secretary Alan Johnson has apologised for what he described as a "catalogue of failures" surrounding the deaths of up to 90 patients from the deadly C-diff superbug at Kent hospitals.

In an exclusive article in the Kent Messenger, he said there could be "no excuses" for the C-diff crisis within the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and added: "This is totally unacceptable and should not happen anywhere in the NHS."

Mr Johnson has also commented on plans for the new £225million Pembury Hospital.
