Maidstone East Railway Station regeneration work pictures revealed

The new look for Maidstone East Railway Station has been revealed in fresh CGI images released by Network Rail.

Works began in early September on the ambitious £2.5 million project as demolition started at The Vic pub.

When finished, the station will feature a spacious landscaped entrance, a glass front, a waiting room, café, ticket office, and staff room.

The redevelopment is funded by the rail industry through the National Stations Improvement Programme and by Kent County Council's (KCC) Local Growth Fund.

The works are just part of a much wider scheme of improvements taking place to create what Maidstone Borough Council hopes will be a gateway to the town.

The construction of the new station building is set to start late next year following the demolition of the pub.
