One lane on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 was closed after two vehicles collided earlier today.

The incident, between junctions 6 for Maidstone and 7 for Detling Hill, occurred at around 4.30pm.

Both cars pulled on to the hard shoulder as Highways England representatives closed the lane to make the scene clear.

The stretch was only closed for around 20 minutes, reopening shortly after 4.50pm after all vehicles had left the scene.

It is not believed anybody was injured in the incident.

Motorists are being advised delays should begin to clear, but they should still allow for extra journey time.
