Leeds: Fire in cornfield

Fire crews spent more than three hours fighting a large blaze that broke out in a field near Maidstone.

Crews were called to Burberry Lane in Leeds at 1pm yesterday, where around 60 hectares of standing corn was alight - the equivalent in size to around 60 rugby pitches.

The fire was extinguished using jets, using water shuttles as well as beaters.
